So sorry for the lack of posting! Not much has really been going, until this past month at least! I guess the biggest thing going on right now has to do with my Left ear. A little over a month ago it started hurting me really bad, and that is not a good thing given I have a really bad history with my left ear. (Long story short, I had numerous bad ear infections as a child, had tubes that would literally pop out of my ears and I have scarring ... THIS IS NOT MEANT TO SCARE ANYONE! My ears are VERY abnormal apparently.) So anyways, I went to my regular doctor and he said nothing was wrong, but he still wanted me to go see an ENT just incase. So I did, and HE said there WAS an infection, and it was pretty bad. Soooo, I went on antibiotics for 2 weeks and went back. Infection was still there, so I was on them for ANOTHER 2 weeks, and then had to get a catscan because he was worried that this could be a chronic thing that I have had for awhile. So, I had the catscan done and went back today and found out that it is bad. I have whats called "mastoiditus" (spelling?) AND my ear drum is practically stuck to the back wall of my ear, causing me to loose SEVENTY percent of my hearing. So, the doctor said today that I am a candidate to have surgery on my ear where they would DRILL in the back of my ear and clean out the mastoid bone and possibly reconstruct my ear drum and all that jazz. I have to meet with his partner for a second opinion (which he recommended me to, which I really liked, because he has not done this surgery in awhile so he wanted to make SURE that I do need it. He said he would be surprised if the doc said I did not.) So anyways, basically this is and has been a ticking time bomb as the doctor put it. Either I could do nothing and it gets a lot worse, or I get the surgery. So yeah, I have been a mess all day. It is not what I needed to hear. I had a bad feeling that it would not be good. LUCKILY I have had my mom through all this. She has come to EVERY single appointment with me, which has been like every week, and I can not thank her more! She was supposed to go to Cape May this coming week but she is staying home so she can come with me to my appt. with the other Doctor. I LOVE MY MOMMY<3 I am strong when it comes to anything else. I was fine with the surgery I had 2 years ago, I was okay when I injured my feet a bajillion times in dance, but when it comes to my left ear... I just cannot handle it. To many traumatizing experiences when I was younger. So, sorry for the long detailed explanation, but I figured some people would want to know. So now onto happier things! Here are some pics of the last few months!
We had our annual Ward Labor Day Picnic which I and another girl were in-charge of, and it was a hit! Thank GOODNESS for Facebook for this! We were only able to announce it in church like once because of Stake Conference and then the hurricane we had. I made a sign up group on FB and was reminding everyone like all the time, and it was PACKED! YAY!

We made new friends and had a taco/game night, and they rearranged our furniture when they came over... haha! We had to make space for everyone!
I cut my hair, like a lot! and I LOVE IT.

Other than all that things have been okay. The kids I nanny for are back in school so I am working part time which is starting to take a toll on us money wise. Luckily though I have been picking up some extra hours with another family, I babysat for them a week ago and I am babysitting this coming week twice! So that has been nice, but its still stressful! John is trying to figure our some school stuff which is so not fun either, Ugh! Being an adult stinks sometimes!
Ok, I believe that is it! Now its time to ready for the HOLIDAYS! I cannot wait to start decorating for Christmas! =)
Aw cute Brittany! I so sorry to hear about your ear troubles, that is awful and scary! I'm glad though that you are trying to get it taken care of, that is so great! Just think that a year from now, or even 6 months from now, your ear issues could possibly be non-existent?! Keep us posted on that!
ReplyDeleteCute hair cut, and way to go on planning that ward activity! How fun :) Love you guys.
