A New Chapter ...

Well to go along with us being married for year, it seems like we are ready to begin a new chapter in our life. We got a new apartment, and we will be slowly moving in during June. We have to pay rent in our old place & the new place so we are taking our time. It is like a townhouse, but it is only one bedroom. 3 floors if you include the basement. I LOVE IT! We have our OWN washer & dryer. That is my FAVORITE PART! Everything is a bit bigger than our place we have now. I am so excited to have more space so our place will not be as cluttered! I feel like I am getting clausterphobic with all the stuff we have shoved into our tiny place right now. I am so ready to start our own little food storage too! YAY!

Hmm... what else ... OH YEAH, i got a new job! Not that I wanted to leave where I am now, but John & I needed to make a bit more money if we ever wanted to start saving anything, and his job is perfect for him right now. They are flexible with him & school and it is secure so it was on me to find a new job. I have been looking for a nanny job for awhile now but have never found anything. Well one of my friends hooked me up with a family she had nannied for before, and they interviewed me and i guess they liked me because they hired me! YAY! I am making a lot more than I am right now, which is a nice comfort for John & I. I was so sad to give my 2 weeks notice to the daycare I am at, but it was something I had to do. =( I am done the 2nd of June. It will be a very surreal day I think. I will be working Monday through Thursday, full time, for the summer and then I go to part time for the school year when the kids are in school. It is going to be nice to have 3 day weekends for awhile. I have a feeling those are still going to be busy days though!

AND ... MY SISTER AND HER HUSBAND ARE MOVING HOME! YAY YAY YAY! They will be here NEXT WEEK! I AM SO EXCITED! CAN YOU TELL?! Party time! party time!

Side note ...
We got to speak to the Priests & Laurels of our Stake last night. They were doing a "Transition Fireside" for the kids, and they asked US to speak! It was a cool experience to be the adults telling the kids about the future. It was a little weird for me because I still feel like I just graduated, and I was like, wait what am I supposed to say. I have not had that much life experience yet! haha. Basically we talked about how important staying strong in the church is when you leave home. I spoke about how it is so much easier to deal with things if you ALWAYS lean on the Lord. At the end of my talk I said, "It is hard living on your own and making all of your own decisions, but please, make choosing the Lord and holding onto the things we have learned growing up in church, always be the first thing you think of when you make a decision." I read that over and over again after I wrote that, and was like "Wow was that for them or me?!" John's talk was perfect, as always. I envy him when he speaks. He is so comfortable up there, as compared to me shaking and barely looking up. =(

Hmmm... so thats it for now! I will post pics as soon as we start moving into the new place!

We have been married for a year? NO WAY!

To go with the title of the post, crazy how time flies! I cannot believe that I was sealed to John over a year ago! Best day of my life! Anyways, we did not do anything to big but we were able to take Friday off from work and just spend the day together. We slept in and made it a relaxing day and it was so nice, we needed it! Saturday was our actual anniversary and we TRIED to go the Phili Art Museum but we got lost going there, because we took a different route than we normally would. It was an adventure trying to get there, and after driving around for over an hour we were frustrated and turned around. We tried to go the movies but nothing interesting was playing so we just went home. =( I was very sad! But that night we were able to go to the William Penn Inn for a nice dinner. We got all dressed up and had a very yummy dinner! All in all it was a nice anniversary! I cannot believe that he is still putting up with me after a year! =)

Friends, Family, Conference!

Hello all! Sorry for the lack of posts for the past few months, but things have been crazy busy.

So where to begin! We spent easter with John's parents this year and it was lovely! YUMMY food! We watched the last days of Christ's Life, and remembered all that he did for us. I love Easter because it is such a great time to reflect on that.

We were also able to get together with a bunch of our old friends from the Singles Branch! Traci came into town so we all got together, and it was a blast. It was so nice being with all of them again. John & I got to me Angela&Gary's Son Landon for the first time, and he is adorable! He is such a happy baby, and he has such wonderful parents, he is one loved little boy!
I got to hold & feed little Landon, and I loved every minute of it.
Mommy & Baby
All the girls!

Other important things ... We were able to spend Conference weekend with Johns Parents. I loved conference this session! Okay, I always love conference but this one was amazing. A lot of the talks just touched me in a different way than others had in the past. One of my favorite talks was by Cecil O. Samuelson. I loved how he said that we must "trust in the Lord, and in his timing". I think that is a hard thing for me, because sometimes I want to know an answer to a prayer right away, but it rarely happens that way. I feel like my favorite quote from the whole conference was from Dalin H. Oaks when he said, and this is not word for word, "...Priorities determine our choices, choices determine our actions and desires determine our goals". I LOVE that quote!
